English Style Knitting
English Style knitting is where the left hand does 99% of the work. The right hand holds the loaded needle. The left hand holds the working needle AND the yarn, enters the stitches with the knitting needle, wraps the yarn around the left hand needle, draws the yarn through the existing stitch and then slides the old stitch off of the right hand needle.
The pro to this style of knitting is that the left hand is doing virtually all of the work so it may feel a bit more comfortable. The con is that there is always a stop and start happening which decreases the knitters speed.
I recommend learning to knit and purl in both styles of knitting as this can be highly beneficial later on.
